KUSHAN, Huvishka, (c.A.D. 260-292), gold stater, (7.8 grams), obv. bust of upper part of king nimbate to left, wearing rounded leather helmet and chin-band and a tight-fitting tunic, holding a mace in his right hand, legend around, rev. Goddess Mithra standing to left, holding a short staff, behind legend downwards MIOPO, (Gobl 292, cf.M.3191/3193). Slighly polished on the obverse with dirt adherance, otherwise very fine and very rare.

Gobl in his marathon study of Kushan gold knew of only three other examples of this type and these from similar dies, This type was present in the Dr. Lawrence Brilliant Collection of Kushan gold, in the Spink-Taisei, Singapore sale 9.
