ITALY, Calabria, Taras, (272-235 B.C.), silver stater, (6.35 grams), obv. warrior in crested helmet with ornamental shield on stationary horse to left, below API **STWN, above to left, EY, rev. Taras astride a dolphin to left, holding a tridentand a hippocamp, to right **IWP, **TA PAS below (cf.S.374, Vl.931, SNG ANS 1239 same dies). Good very fine.
