MACEDON, kingdom of Philip II, (359-336 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (14.35 grams), Amphipolis mint, issued posthumously 342/1-329/8 B.C., obv. head of Zeus laureate to r., rev. naked youth or small man (Philip II), on horseback to r., janiform head below in field, **P to right, above FILIP POU. (cf.S.6680, Le Rider Pl.37, 361 [same dies]). Superb portrait of Zeus, in high relief, attractive pale grey tone, good very fine and rare.
