CILICIA, Issos, issue of Balakros, ruler of Cilicia for Alexander the Great, (333-328 B.C.), silver stater, (10.90 grams), obv. Baal seated left, holding lotus-headed sceptre, ear of corn and bunch of grapes before, I (Issos) below throne, B (Balakros) behind, rev. draped bust of Athena three-quartera face to left, wearing triple-crested helmet, (S.5556, SNG France 2, Cilicia 420). Extremely fine rare and exceptional coin in superb condition.
