SEPTIMIUS SEVERUS, (A.D. 193-211), AE sestertius, Rome mint, issued A.D. 210, (23.10 grams), obv. laureate bearded head of Septimius Severus to right, around L SEPT SEVE RVS PIVS AVG, rev. around P M TR P XVIII COS III P P, Severus and Caracalla standing to left and right, sacrificing over altar (or tripod), behind and between them figure of Pietas or Concordia, (S.-, RIC 798, C.560). Attractive even dark brown patina, nearly extremely fine and very rare.
