Pte/Sgt P.J. Fleming TAS I.B./26Bn. A.I.F. Military Medal awarded in 15 Bn. A.I.F. Second medal unnamed, others impressed. Very fine.

K.S.A. confirmed on roll. MM. C.G. 29Apr20: 'In recognition of gallant conduct and determination displayed in escaping, or attempting to escape, from captivity, which services have been brought to notice in accordance with the terms of Army Order 193 of 1919.' M.I.D. C.G.4Oct17. With photographs of recipient in Tasmanian military uniform, extensive research regarding his service in South Africa, his military service in France and his de-briefing statement following his escape from Germany, newspaper cuttings in later life, death notices and ex service lapel badges.
