MILITARY MEDAL (GVR), Pte C.J. Stehn 41 Aust Inf. Impressed. Slight edge knock, otherwise very fine.

With copy of citation. MM: C.G.: During the near Sailly-Le-Sec south of Albert on the night 28/29th March 1918, this man, a strecher bearer, regardless of all personal safety and under heavy machine gun and rifle fire, assisted to remove all wounded from the scene of operations. His absolute disregard of danger in order to carry out his duties, inspired all those who witnessed his acts of gallentry. Private Stehn in company with Private Marsh worked continuously over unknown ground swept by enemy machine gun fire, until all the wounded had been removed to a place of safety. He was responsible for saving from the hands of the enemy many of our wounded and instrumental in preventing the enemy from obtaining identifications.
