THEOPHILUS (829-842), semissis, 1.52 grams, struck at Syracuse mint, issued 831-842, obv. Theophilus facing bust holding cross on globe, with short beard, wearing crown, rev. Theophilus facing beardless wearing crown, in right hand cross on globe, (S. 1673, DOC 26a). Full flan, nearly extremely fine and scarce.
