ROMANUS IV (1068-1071), histamenon nomisma, 4.33 grams, struck at Constantinople mint, scyphate flan, Class I, obv. Christ standing on footstool, with nimbus crowning Romanus and Eudocia, rev. Constantine Michael VII in centre with Constantius and Andronicus, all on footstools, (S. 1859, DOC 1). Cracked flan, good very fine and scarce.

Most unusual piece as this piece has been struck with reversed orientation, the concave side being the three sons.
