ALEXIUS I (1081-1118), hyperpyron, 4.31 grams, struck at Constantinople mint, flat large flan, Post-Reform coinage, 1092-1118, obv. Christ enthroned facing, with nimbus, rev. Alexius I standing facing bearded wearing crown and jewelled chlamys, in right hand labarum, and in left hand cross on globe, double border, (S. 1912, H. Pl.3, 8). Large flan, plugged, otherwise good very fine and scarce.
