MANUEL I (1143-1180), electrun aspron trachy, 4.35grams, struck at Constantinople mint, scyphate flan, obv. Christ enthroned facing, with nimbus, rev. The Virgin on right and Manuel I on left, together hold a patriarchal cross, Virgin with nimbate and Manuel crowned, in right hand holds akakia, (S. 1958, H. Pl.13, 3 variety). Very large flan, extremely fine.
