SICILY, Frederick II, 1197-1231, Multiple gold tari (six?), 15-16 mms, 5.72 grams, Messina mint, obv. six pellets (five around central pellet), rev. Cross flanked by IC XC over NI KA, (Spahr 85, cf.Thomsen 2491 13mms ($600US), Fr.647 for type). Flan flaw at centre and edge splits, otherwise very fine and extremely rare.
