DENARIUS ROME MINT (STRUCK UNDER CLAUDIUS C. 50-54 A.D.) Obv. Young bare head draped right Rev. EQVESTER/ORDO/PRINCIPI/IVVENTI in four lines on shield with vertical spear behind (RIC (Claud.) 79;C.97;Sear 667). A pleasing portrait of the young Nero, very fine.

Reverse refers to the adoption of Nero by Claudius as heir.
