CELTIC, Central Gaul, early potin issue of 16x18mms, c.2nd-1st century B.C., obv. laureate head to l., rev. bull butting to r, traces of MA above, (DLT (BN) 5284). Very fine and rare.
These were derived from the bull butting bronzes of Massilia of the 2nd century B.C. They are noted by Allen & Nash to appear to be from the upper Loire valley.
