QUEEN VICTORIA, proof set, 1839, gold Una and the lion five pounds, sovereign and half sovereign; silver crown, half crown, shilling, sixpence groat and maundy set; bronzed copper penny, halfpenny and farthing except for the first all with plain edges (S.PS3). The five pounds brilliant frosted proof the sovereign obverse surface marked the reverse clearly showing a double strike, the half sovereign brilliant. The silver deeply toned, the bronzed copper an even dark brown of brilliant, except for the sovereign virtually F.D.C. and very rare. Sold with plush fitted case in style of the originals.
