IONIA, Teos, (520-510 B.C.), silver didrachm, (11.58 grams), obv. Griffin seated to right with raised foreleg, NV between legs, rev. incuse square of rough form, (Balcer Group II No.8 obv. die A8, rev. die P11, cf. S.3512). Obverse off centre, otherwise very fine and very rare.
Ex. Teos hoard c.1980. only a few known with these Magistrate letters, a similar specimen from the same obverse die sold for DM1600 + 15% in Munz Zentrum auction.
