LUCIUS VERUS, (A.D. 161-169), sestertius, Rome mint, (25.07 grams), issued A.D. 161, obv. Laureate head to r., around IMP CAES L AVREL VERVS AVG, rev. Lucius Verus and Marcus Aurelius clasping hands, around CONCORD AVGVSTOR TR P, in exergue COS II, (RIC 1284, Cohen 28, BMC 859, S.1546). A striking piece with a dark brown patina, in exceptional high relief, as fine as any known specimen of this ruler, good extremely fine and extremely rare in this condition.
