PALESTINE, Judaea, Alexander Jannaeus, (103 - 76 B.C.), copper prutahs, obv. anchor surrounded by Greek inscription, rev. star of eight rays, Hebrew between rays, another Hebrew inscription surrounded by wreath, rev. double cornucopiae, (Hendin 10, 14, S. 6087, 6089). Both have been cleaned, with off centre flans as usual, otherwise fine for issue. (2)

Ex David Hendin. Of Biblical importance as this coin type is also often described as the widow's mite.
