VESPASIAN, (A.D. 69-79), As, Rome mint, obv. laureate head to r., rev. VICTORIA NAVALIS Victory stg. to r. on prow, (RIC 503, S.805). Even dark tone, attractive fine.
The Victory is generally considered to commemorate the naval victory gained by Vespasian naval vessels over the barques of the Jews on the lake of Gennesareth.
