ROHILKHAND, Hafiz Rahmat Khan (A.H. 1167-1188, A.D. 1754-1777), in name of Shah Alam II, (A.H. 1173-1221, A.D. 1759-1806), Muradabad mint, rupee, obverse no A.H. date [1174-5], with regal year 2, (cf.KM.76.1). Nearly very fine and very rare, unpublished.
Ex Robert Senior by private purchase. The mint reading which is very clear has also been tentatively suggested to be Mustafabad. The design and particularly the obverse legend differs very significantly from the year 2 illustrated in Krause, by having three dots instead of anchor and no trefoil on the obverse.
Estimate / sale price does not include buyer's premium (currently 22% including GST) which is added to hammer price. All bids are executed on the understanding that the Terms & Conditions of sale have been read and accepted. For information on grading and estimates please refer to the Buying at Auction advice.
