LIFE SAVING MEDAL. China War Medal 1857 with reverse details removed by machining and engraved: 'Presented to William Pullen as a reward for bravery in saving a fellow creature from drowning in Hobson's Bay 22nd November 1866.' Very fine.
Possibly the earliest award for life saving in Victoria.
