ITALY, Lucania, Velia, (440-400 B.C.), silver stater, (7.60 grams), obv. head of Athena to left wearing crested Athenian helmet, ornamented with wreath, rev. lion pulling down stag to left, above VELHTW[N] above, (cf.S.453; Williams 151 same dies). Nearly very fine, lightly toned and scarce.
Williams notes five specimens from these dies.
