CLAUDIUS AND NERO, (A.D. 41-54), silver denarius, Rome mint, issued A.D. 50-4, obv. laureate head of Claudius to right, TI CLAVD CAESAR AVG GERM P M TRIB POT PP around, rev. Nero bust with bare head draped to left, around NERO CLAVD CAES DRVSVS GERM PRINC (RIC 83, BMC 80). Very fine and very rare.
Ex. Hess and Bank Leu Sale 19 April 12-3, 1962 (lot 431) where it realised SFr. 220 + 10%.
