MARINIANA, wife of Valerian, (died prior to A.D. 253), AE sestertius, Rome mint, issued A.D. 256, obv. diademed veiled and draped bust of Mariniana to right, around DIVAE [MAR]INIANAE, rev. peacock standing facing head to right, tail in splendour, around CONSECRATIO, S C in field, (S.2931, RIC 9, C.7). Squarish flan, dark brown patina, nearly very fine and very rare.
