A GROUP OF MEDALETS AND BADGES TO THE HON. A.O. Sachse M.L.C. including; Commonwealth Celebrations, May 1901 in gilt with ribbon and 'Victoria' bar; another in silver with ribbon and 'Australia' bar in enamel with the Coat of Arms; another similar but in gilt (no ribbon); Commonwealth Celebrations, Victoria, fob in gold (15ct,6.9gms, 19 x 22mms) inscribed on reverse 'THE HON A.O.SACHSE M.L.C.'; together with Victorian Railways, Member of Parliament free pass, with brooch mount, in gold (15ct, 8.3gms, 24mm) inscribed on reverse 'HON A.O.SACHSE M.L.C.', and a gold key (15ct,7.2gms, 49mm) by G.W.Catanach, inscribed 'Opened by Hon. A.O.Sachse 20.6.08 / S.S. No. 3572 Canterbury / D.Kinnaird - A.T.Ward'. First and last in cases of issue. Very fine-uncirculated. (6)

Arthur Otto Sachse was a consulting engineer by profession, Member Legislative Council 1892-1920, was Minister of Public Instruction and Vice President of Board of Land & Works in the Ministry of Sir Thomas Bent. He was one of the founders of the Royal Geographical Society of Australasia.
