MADRAS PRESIDENCY, European Style Coinages, First Issue, 1807, silver half pagoda, obv. Gopuram of a temple with 12 stars each side, around in English HALF PAGODA, rev. deity Vishnu standing surrounded by dotted circles, in native text 'half a flower (or star) pagoda', (Pr. 151, KM. 344). Traces of Spanish dollar undertype, very fine and rare.
Ex. Robert Senior 1981, list 1 (366). The Pridmore specimen alao very fine (lot 363) realised Å“480 in 1982.
