TEMPLE COINAGE, Pseudo-numismatic presentation pieces in imitation of Sher Shah round rupee, and gold mohur of akbar, 16-18th century, round and square (2), issues in silver or billon, (M.4751, 4755 and another similar). Very fine. (3)

Ex. Noble Numismatics Auctions Sale 46 (lot 2642). $$ It seems that the primary purpose of these pieces was to act as pseudo monetary gifts at various marriage and religous celebrations.
