ITALY, Calabria, Tarentum, time of Alexander the Molossian or later, (334-302 B.C.), silver stater, (7.72 grams), obv. naked horseman prancing to right, SA below, holding spears, rev. Taras seated to left on dolphin, holding canthoras and trident, small dolphin below, [TAR]AS to right, K on left, (S.349, BMC 232, Evans Period Vb,12, Vl.607 same dies). Some minor porosity but not detracting from the coin, otherwise nearly extremely fine.
