SYRIA, Kingdom of, Demetrius I, (160-150 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.78 grams), Series III, Antioch mint, issued year 161 = 152-151 B.C., obv. diademed head of Demetrius I to right, fillet border, rev. Tyche seated left on throne supported by winged monster, holding baton and cornucopiae, on right, BASILEOS and to left DHMHTRIOV and SWTHROS, to left monograms PHA above MT, in exergue AXR, (S.7015, Newell SMA 117ff with lower left monogram unlisted). Slightly off centre, otherwise good very fine, rare, marks apparently unpublished.
