SYRIA, Kingdom of, Antiochus VI, (144-142 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (14.50 grams), Antioch mint, issued year 169 = 144-143 B.C., obv. radiate head of Antiochus VI to right, fillet border, rev. the Dioscouroi on horseback charging to left, above BASILEOS ANTIOCOV and below EPIFANOVS over DIONVSOV, to right monogram PAW above TRV and STA, to left date YXR, all within wreath, (cf.S.7072, Newell SMA 233, cf.Haughton ACNAC 232). Worn dies, otherwise extremely fine and rare.
