BACTRIA, Indo-Greeks, Kingdom of, Eucratides, (c.170-145 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (15.82 grams), Balkh mint (?), obv. helmeted bust of Eucratides to right, around BASILEVS MEGAS, below across field EVKRATIDHS, filleted border, rev. bare headed busts of Heliocles and Laodice to right, above HLIOKLEOVS, below KAI LAODIKHS, to left monogram of WA, (cf.S.7572, cf.Mitchiner Vol.I 182b, Bopearachchi Series 15). Very porous and corroded on the obverse, otherwise good very fine, and very rare.
