SOLD $90
LATE KUSHANO-SASSANIAN COINAGE, issue in name of King, Varhran IV, (388-389), silver drachm, obv. bust to right with crown, rev. fire altar, (cf.Sellwood 40, Gobl -, M.1321-3). Very fine and very rare.
Mitchiner comments that the legend could refer to either Varhran IV or Varhran Kushanshah, but since the low title Malka is used, one may suppose that Varhran Kushanshah was cited.
