REPUBLIC, Struck Coinage, Anonymous Series, (225-212 B.C.), silver didrachm (quadrigatus), uncertain mint, (5.40 grams), obv. laureate janiform head of the Dioscuri, border of dots, rev. Jupiter in quadriga to right, driven by Victory, Jupiter holds sceptre and hurls thunderbolt, in exergue incuse ROMA on tablet, (S.80, Cr.29/3, Syd. 64a). A portion broken off, otherwise extremely fine.
