JULIA MAESA, grandmother of Elagabalus, (d.A.D.225), issue struck at Rome 218-222, AE dupondius, (10.72 grams), obv. IVLIA MA ESA AVG, diademed bust draped to right, rev. around PVDICITIA, S C in exergue, Pudicitia seated to left, raising veil and holding sceptre, (cf.S.2187, RIC 418, C.41). Attractive portrait, porous surface, legend weak on reverse, otherwise nearly very fine and scarce.
