GORDIAN I, (A.D. 238), AE sestertius, Rome mint, issued A.D. 238, (24.46 grams), obv. laureate bust of Gordian II to right, around IMP CAES M ANT GORDIANVS AFR AVG, rev. around SECVRITAS AVGG, Securitas seated to left, holding short sceptre, S C in exergue, (S.-, RIC 11, C.11). Attractively toned, nearly very fine and rare.
