SOUTH WEST MIDLANDS, probably Dobunni, Uninscribed Coinage, Up Avon Moon type coinage, (c.30-10 B.C.), silver unit, (0.94 grams), obv. crude Celticized head of Apollo right, rev. Celticized horse to left, (S.-, cf,Van A. 1042-1). Very porous, otherwise nearly fine but extremely rare, type apparently unpublished.
This is a new type, not seen before 1993, and probably made by the Dobunnic sub-tribe group in the vale of Pewsey in Wiltshire, England.
