CELTIC BRITAIN, Uninscribed Coinage, Durotriges, Cheriton type, (c.57-55 B.C.), base gold stater, (4.67 grams), obv. Celticized abstracted head of Apollo right, with solid crescent with lines radiating from it, rev. crude disjointed horse to left, it unusual to see zigzag in exergue, (S.22, Van A. 1215-1, noted as rare). Very fine and rare.
