RESERVE BANK OF AUSTRALIA, Specially Inscribed Presentation Book, originally containing a set of SPECIMEN Australian banknotes ($1 to $50). The inscription in the front of the book is signed in facsimile by the Governor Mr R.A. Johnston. Ex M.P. Vort-Ronald Collection, Spink Australia Sale 24, part I (lot 242). This book was presented to an employee of Trans Australian Airlines by the Reserve Bank of Australia on 21 October 1983, as a mark of thanks for his actions...' which contributed to forestalling a theft of a large quantity of Australian currency' in Queensland on 21 September 1982. The specimen notes originally housed in the book were also sold in the Vort-Ronald sale as (lots 236-241). See 'Australian Decimal Banknotes' pp.55.
