QUEEN VICTORIA, trial striking of the pattern dollar dated 1864 (Pr 232; KMPn 105) struck on an English halfpenny blank (5.75 grams). Extremely fine with mint red, unpublished and unique.

A number of patterns were produced for the proposed silver dollar of Hong Kong from 1863 until 1865. The first currency coins were dated 1866. This test was double struck on both sides after being flipped over between strikes. A silver striking of this pattern on a correct blank was sold in the Goodman Collection in Los Angeles by Superior (lot 729).
