MARCUS AURELIUS, (A.D. 161-180), gold aureus, issued A.D. 145 as Caesar, Rome mint, (7.20 grams), obv. bare head bust of Marcus Aurelius to right, around AVRELIVS CAES ANTON AVG P II F, rev. around TR POT X COS II, Minerva helmeted, advancing right, brandishing javelin and holding shield, (cf.S.1376, RIC 465b, cf.C.684). Perfectly centred, nearly extremely fine and rare in this condition.
