THEODOSIUS II (A.D. 402-450), solidus, Constantinople mint, issued c.430-450, (4.48 grams), obv. helmeted and cuirassed bust facing holding spear and shield, rev. Roma seated to left holding cross on globe and sceptre, IMP XXXXII COS SVII P.P. around, (cf.S.4288). Large flan, nearly extremely fine and scarce.
