VALENTINIAN III (A.D. 425-455), solidus, Rome mint, (4.27 grams), obv. diademed, draped and cuirassed bust to right, rev. Emperor Valentinian III standing facing, holding long cross and Victory, with foot on serpent, VICTORIA AVGGG around, (C.19, cf.S.4310). Has been mounted, otherwise very fine and rare.
