SYRIA, Kingdom of, Antiochus I, (280-261 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (15.98 grams), Series III, Seleucia on Tigris mint, issued 264-263 B.C., obv. diademed head of Antiochus I to right, dotted border, rev. Apollo seated left on omphalos, holding arrow and bow, on right, BASILEOS and to left ANTIOXOV, to left and right monograms, (cf.S.6866, Newell ESM 166). Old dark tone, slightly off centre on obverse, otherwise very fine, scarce.
