CLAUDIUS, (A.D. 41-54), silver denarius, issued A.D.44-45, Rome mint, obv. laureate head of Claudius to right, around TI CLAVD CAESAR AVG P M TR P IIII, rev. IMPER RECEPT on the top of wall enclosing praetorian camp, soldier stands, spear in hand, (S.-, RIC 26 [notes R2], BMC 23). Has been mounted with chip out of edge, otherwise good fine and very rare.
