GORDIAN III, (A.D. 238-244), silver antoninianii, Rome mint, obv. radiate bust of Gordian III, draped and cuirassed to right, around IMP GORDIANVS PIVS FEL AVG, rev. Providentia standing half left with baton and sceptre, globe at feet, around PROVID AVG, (cf.S.2457, RIC 148), another obv. as before, rev. Laetitia standing left with wreath and anchor, around LAETITIA AVG N, (S.2438, RIC 86). Extremely fine; good very fine. (2)
