SCOTLAND, Queen Mary (1542-1567), Fifth period issue, silver ryal, 1567, obv. MARIA DEI GRA SCOTORVM REGINA, crowned shield thistle each side, rev. tortoise climbing a palm tree, across DAT GLORIA VIRES on scroll, around EXVRGAT DEVS & DISSIPENT INIMICI EJ9, (S.5429). Has been mounted and with surface scratches near edge, otherwise nearly very fine.
