GEORGE III, Resolution and Adventure medal 1772, in platina (brass) by Mathew Boulton (BF on truncation) (44mm) (M.H.373;BHM 165). Struck from the first (on cracked reverse die. Suspension rny? missing and pierced for wear, very fine and rare. $ These medals from the first die were distributed to the natives by Captain JamesCook on his second voyage. They were produced under the direction of Sir Joseph Banks.
