CRICKET MEMORABILIA, gift copper belt buckle, made in England with uncertain standard registration marks on back, oblong (74x54mm). Made for presentation to the all aboriginal touring team of 1868. Slightly cracked otherwise fine and extremely rare. $ Sold with a photocopy of an article in the Advertiser 5/4/95. Found in 1951 on a rabbit-shooting expedition near Kitticoola gold mine, 55km north east of Adelaide. The first Australian cricket team to tour England comprised entirely of aborigines arraived by ship in May 1868 and played 47 matches in its 22 week tour for 14 wins, 18 draws and 15 losses.
