THE FIRST CAMPAIGN MEDAL ISSUED TO AUSTRALIAN FORCES. New Zealand War Medal- 1860-1861. Harry Ford A.B. colonial ship 'Victoria' impressed surface scratches. Fine. $ Extremely rare, of forty membrs of 'Victoria's' ship's company entitled to this medal only ten were claimed and of these only a very small number is known to exist. Together with: extensive research relating to the history of HMCS 'Victoria'; her involvement in the waikato wars; the operations in the Gulf of Carpentaria in the search for the explorers Burke and Wills; and the medal roll for the New Zealand War Medal to the ship and copies of correspondence relating to individual claims for the medal.
