NIGERIA, smelted tin disc, 65mms, (69.2grams), with crude stipled engraving of crude face with holes for eyes and other markings, rev. uncertain pattern of lines made from chevron punchmarks. Crude serated edge, four holes with label attached, unusual and fine.
Attached label in old hand states 'Tin token found by natives of Nigeria (Africa) crudely smelted by them with tribal marks on it. Found some 20 ft. underground some years ago by Mr Fair. 17:4:37'.
